Winter Destination Wedding . Flagstaff wedding photographer

We are grateful to have clients that choose us to photograph their wedding, especially if it entails traveling and having a personal/work relationship that spans over a decade. Due to the unpredictability of East Coast weather (Bethesda, MD), we arrived two days before the big day. The day before the wedding, we did some recon work of locations and scouted out a few areas that would work for portraits.

As most of us know, as much organizing that happens before the wedding...nothing goes as planned! All of the scouting that we did the day before, was washed away with a ceremony that went over 30 minutes longer than expected (by this time it was completely DARK outside). So, we literally had 10 minutes...yes, 10 minutes to photograph all of the group family portraits that were on the list. The church staff kicked us all out (after 10 minutes!) and not very cordially either. Everything from this point was behind schedule and a mad dash to the reception site. The family scattered, the bridal party scattered, it was chaos from a photography sense. Needless to say, we did our best with the 5 minutes we had outside for portraits with the bride and groom.

Winter isn't the most popular time of year to be married. Liz and Teddy embraced the chilly December day in stride and paid attention to all of the beautiful details and family connections. Every detail at the reception was created by the bride and her mother. It was the most beautiful and unique reception decor I have seen in years. I love when there is so much attention to making a wedding unique and sweet.

The photographs that really speak to us are those natural candid moments that capture the essence of love, family, and celebration.

The bridesmaids redo the bride's hair after a failed attempt from the stylist. Those women were quick and diligent for their bride. Success!

The amazing Winter wedding decor.

Best Man toasting.

Candid moments are the best.
