Emily & Scott . Desert Botanical Garden Wedding . Heather Kadar Photography

Springtime in the Arizona desert is my favorite time of year. The flora begins to bloom and the desert floor is a vibrant mix of green, yellow, orange, and purple. Emily and Scott's wedding at Desert Botanical Garden was full of those colors and the unforgettable exhibit of Dale Chihuly glass. Personal touches really made the day special. Emily's mom made her wedding dress. I love that brides are breaking the idea of having to wear a white dress. In lieu of a traditional bouquet, Emily had a fragrant bundle of blooming creosote, which contrasted nicely with her green dress. The table decor for the reception were large groupings of cacti and succulents that were rented from the garden shop which were wrapped in burlap for a rustic finished look...lovely! The cake-cutting was replaced with creme burlee, which was hand-made for each guest. The ceremony and reception took place in the Binns Wildflower Pavilion. Here is a small selection of some of my favorites!
